Why this trail is rated Easy
Route Description
The hike starts on a gradually ascending concrete road in Barangay Guindaruhan, passing through the small communities of Purok Cacao before transitioning onto a narrow footpath leading toward Cutod Falls. The route follows a combination of concrete roads and established footpaths with gentle elevation changes throughout.
Sections of the trail were partially covered by dense vegetation during this field documentation, making the path more difficult to identify in some areas, although navigation remained straightforward. The trails around Cutod Falls were well established and regularly used by residents living in the valley as a shortcut to Guindaruhan proper.
After visiting the waterfalls, the route exits the valley through Estaka, following a concrete road that passes additional communities before returning to the starting point to complete the loop.
Trail Conditions
The trail was dry during the documented hike, which took place on a sunny morning. Approximately 40% of the route followed footpaths, while the remaining 60% consisted of concrete roads.
Shade coverage was limited throughout the hike. Mobile signal was strong at the start but became intermittent along the route. Many insects were observed, and most of the people encountered were local residents. Stores were available near the communities, and carrying at least 1 liter of water was recommended.
Additional Notes
Although portions of the trail were overgrown during this field documentation, the route remained easy to follow.
Litter was observed around the vicinity of Cutod Falls despite the presence of signs reminding visitors not to leave trash.
