Objective: Verify the trail that loops around Campagao Peak based on a downloaded GPX.
Current extent: The current route extends to a pocket forest with a small residential settlement.
Exploration ended because: Despite asking several locals, the continuation of the trail could not be confirmed due to conflicting directions. A steep ascending trail showed signs of continuing uphill, but its destination and connection to the intended route remained uncertain. The exploration concluded by returning via the established Campagao Peak trail.
Field Notes:
- A possible continuation may be found by approaching the route from the opposite direction.
- Additional time will be required during a future field visit. Dense vegetation limits the usefulness of satellite imagery, as the footpaths are obscured by tree cover.
- The junction where this route branches from the Campagao Peak trail is faint and easy to overlook, giving the impression that it is rarely used. However, a short distance beyond the junction, the trail becomes well-defined.
- Another trail may provide direct access to the pocket forest (where the exploration ended) without using the Campagao Peak trail.
