Why this trail is rated Easy
Route Description
The route follows a mostly downhill trail through farmland toward the Cotcot River. Navigation is straightforward, and the short distance makes the approach relatively easy.
After reaching the river and Malingin Rock, the return follows the same route, with a short but more tiring uphill climb back to the jump-off point.
Trail Conditions
Conditions during the documented hike were sunny and dry. Most of the trail was shaded, except for the river section. Stores were available only at the jump-off point.
Mobile signal was strong near the start but became weaker near the river. At least 1 liter of water was recommended. No other hikers were encountered during the hike, and insect activity was minimal.
Additional Notes
Due to Typhoon Odette and Typhoon Tino, Malingin Rock was observed to have shifted approximately 11 meters downstream from its previous location. During the documented hike, it was much closer to the trail exit leading to the river.
