Why this trail is rated Easy
Route Description
The route follows a mostly downhill mountain ridge through narrow trails, farmland, and small mountain communities. Several sections provide wide views of the surrounding countryside as the trail gradually descends toward Bagakay.
Although the route is generally easy to follow, some sections are uneven or rocky and may be hard on the knees during the descent. The hike concludes at a bridge crossing the river that flows into Malubog Lake.
Trail Conditions
Conditions during the documented hike were sunny and dry. The trail was dry at the time but can become muddy during rainy weather. The opening section was shaded, while the latter part of the route became more exposed. No stores were encountered along the trail.
Mobile signal was strong near the start before disappearing farther along the route. At least 1 liter of water was recommended. No other hikers were encountered during the hike, and insect activity was minimal.
Additional Notes
The trail is well-trodden and regularly used by local residents and livestock. However, multiple side trails branch from the main route, and navigation can occasionally become confusing.
In some areas, the trail may disappear where farmland overlaps the route. Following the GPX track or looking carefully for the continuation of the trail may be necessary.
A trekking pole or walking stick is recommended because of the sustained downhill terrain. If the route is hiked in reverse, expect a continuous climb lasting several kilometers.
